As an Analyst for the Investment & Platform Oversight  team, you will have the opportunity to support the achievement of key strategic objectives, provide investment expertise on current and future investment solutions, and collaborate with senior members across the investment oversight team and Principal Asset Management.

 

With the guidance of senior investment oversight team members, you will assist in evaluating and monitoring internal and external investment managers. You will also lead the team’s efforts in the production and efficient use of data via FactSet, a third-party analytical toolset.

 

Through this Analyst role, you will have an opportunity to:

  • Research, compile and analyze qualitative and quantitative information (investment performance data, performance attribution results, firm information, investment team information including strength and consistency in investment philosophy and process and the people managing the assets) to aid senior team members in the on-going monitoring and evaluation of investment Assist in analyzing performance relative to peers and benchmarks to ensure selected investment managers are performing in line with investment guidelines and performance expectations. Assist in the preparation and reporting of investment oversight reports to stakeholders.
  • Monitor investment portfolios daily to ensure compliance with the Investment Guidelines. Review, and investigate potential Investment Guideline breaches.
  • Lead projects, process reviews and/or system enhancements that support investment oversight initiatives. This includes leading and managing on-going reporting and data needs through FactSet.
  • Respond to basic inquiries regarding research content and services, portfolio strategies, investment performance, and other investment manager related information to internal audiences including senior management, portfolio managers, marketing and distribution staff.
  • Perform other job-related duties or special projects as required.

Who You Are

We’re looking for someone with:

  • Bachelors degree in business or related field, preferably with a major in finance or economics
  • General understanding of investment managers and general knowledge of current economic and financial market conditions
  • Ability to efficiently and effectively research, compile, and analyze information

Additional preferred skills and experience:

  • Advanced Excel experience
  • Knowledge of and experience working with FactSet
  • Two years related work experience
  • Progression towards CFA or CFA Charterholder
  • Must have good written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills

Salary Range Information

Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.

Salary Range

$71300 - $96000 / year

Work Environments

This role offers the ability for in-office or hybrid (blending both office and remote work in a typical workweek) work arrangements. You’ll work with your leader to determine which option may align best based on several factors. 

 

Locations:

This role will be based out of our World Headquarters located in Des Moines, IA.
