Who we are:

Principal Dynamic Growth is an equity investment team within publicly traded Principal Financial Group, Inc. (Nasdaq: PFG) and headquartered in Des Moines, Iowa. Dynamic Growth specializes in the long focused equity funds for a variety of organizations including Corporate and Public Defined Benefit and Defined Contribution Pension Plans, Taft-Hartley, Endowments and Foundations and other institutions.

 

What you’ll do:

Dynamic Growth strategies focus on investing in US securities with positive fundamental momentum and positive fundamental surprise. Our Equity Investment Analyst will support our portfolios by working with the Portfolio Managers to identify companies growing faster and stronger with likelihood of beating investor expectations. Through deep sector specific fundamental, bottom-up research (no value or GARP bias), Analysts’ thesis supported buy, sell and hold investment recommendations. Analysts are responsible for:

    • Making long-term investment recommendations for multiple portfolios
    • Monitoring existing investments within their assigned sector coverage
    • Covering many names in the portfolio at one time (up-wards of 25 to 30 at times) and make decisive conclusions quickly
    • Appreciation and understanding of technical analysis and the relevancy of it in stock picking

Who You Are

We’re looking for someone with:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years investment related work experience, MBA with Finance emphasis, or CFA
  • Knowledge of sophisticated investment vehicles, understanding of firm's investment strategy and philosophy, business acumen, superior judgment, and total rate of return mentality
  • Demonstrated understanding of economies and investment theories

 

Additional preferred skills and experience:

  • Equity analysis experience
  • Accomplished in Certified Financial Analyst Level I exam
  • Self-starter
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Factset

Salary Range Information

Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.

Salary Range

$106400 - $144400 / year

Work Environments

This role offers the ability for in-office or four days in-office and one day remote work arrangements. You’ll work with your leader to determine which option may align best based on several factors.

 

Locations:

This role will be based out of our Corporate Headquarters located in Des Moines, IA.
